The Department of Kinesiology and Health prepares students for a diversity of opportunities in the Exercise Science Field. In 2017, this field continues to branch out in size and scope. The desire to be fit and the awareness of the importance of good health has heightened the need for trained professionals in this area. Taking the Exercise and Aging class and working with the senior programs gives the students educational, practical and hands on experience with this population. Furthermore, as the population ages, there is a strong need for practitioners in the fields of medicine, physical therapy, nursing, occupational therapy, etc.

Many of our students have gone on to such careers. Two of our current faculty who are practicing physical therapists were part of this Center during their undergraduate days.

This writer has recently been treated by two of her former students- both in their final stages of becoming a physical therapist.
